Testosterone Enanthate (Test E) is a single large ester base testosterone compound which is a pure synthetic testosterone hormone having a carboxylic acid ester attached in Enanthate (enanthoic acid). The ester itself is often attached to hormone at the 17-beta hydroxyl group. Attaching Enanthate ester, it allows for a command of the hormones active duration and total release time. Once having been injected, testosterone won’t become active until ester begins to detach from the hormone.

Background

Testosterone was originally synthesized by being isolated from animal source in 1930s. Since then, many different esters, including enanthate, have been attached to the parent hormone.
